    Yes, you can pour water on the sauna heater rocks to create steam, which increases humidity and enhances the sauna experience. However, the Valora and Ariso saunas feature KLAFS humidity technology, allowing you to enjoy a controlled level of humidity without the need to pour water on the rocks.   • What should I consider when installing a KLAFS sauna?

    When installing a KLAFS sauna, it's important to consider space, floor load, and electrical requirements. For indoor saunas, ensure there is sufficient space, ideally with eight-foot ceilings. The floor should be level and capable of supporting a substantial load, with cement, tile, or other non-water-absorbing materials being the best choices.

    Additionally, a dedicated 240V outlet with the appropriate amperage based on the sauna size is necessary. For outdoor installations, make sure you have a level area, such as a concrete pad, that can withstand a significant load, as the ground may settle over time. You’ll also need a dedicated 240V / 50-amp outlet via an outdoor receptacle.   • Can I install the sauna myself?

    While the Valora and Ariso saunas can be installed by yourself, we highly recommend using our White Glove installation service, starting at $1,900 depending on the sauna model. This ensures your sauna is installed safely and correctly. Our expert installers will handle the entire process, thoroughly test all components, and responsibly dispose of all packaging materials. For the Taras and S11 saunas, our White Glove installation service is required, as these models involve more complex installations.

  • Do KLAFS saunas have a floor?

    KLAFS indoor saunas are designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing flooring, which is why they do not include a floor. We strongly recommend flooring such as cement, tile, or any non-absorbent surface. If desired, we also offer floor kits for Valora and Ariso saunas that can be placed on top of your current flooring within the sauna. KLAFS outdoor saunas do include a floor.

  • Can KLAFS saunas go outdoors?

    The ARISO, VALORA, and S11 saunas are designed exclusively for indoor use, as they lack the necessary features to withstand exposure to water, snow, or outdoor conditions. In contrast, the Taras sauna is specifically engineered for outdoor use and built to endure the elements.

  • What safety features are included?

    KLAFS has carefully considered every detail to ensure your sauna experience is as safe as possible. Our heater, control unit, and electrical components comply with UL safety standards. Our Bonatherm heater is discreetly concealed under the sauna bench to keep it out of reach while our Fero heater features a protective cage over the rocks, flocking to reduce surface temperature, and elegant obeche wood railings for added safety. We use premium woods with low heat retention, ensuring they remain pleasantly warm to the touch. Our double and triple-pane glass windows prevent the exterior from becoming hot to the touch, and our interior door handles are crafted from high-quality wood, keeping them safe and comfortable to grip.

  • What is the KLAFS warranty and return policy?

    Kohler Co. warrants its KLAFS saunas to be free of defects in material and workmanship for five (5) years from the date of purchase. This warranty applies only to product purchased and installed in the United States and Canada. Full warranty details can be found here.

    KLAFS accepts returns of unopened products within 30 days from the date of receipt. Custom saunas cannot be returned. The product must be returned in its original packaging - assembled units cannot be returned. Refunds will be issued minus any initial and return shipping charges. Additionally, a 25% restocking fee will apply. Refunds will be given upon inspection of the product to ensure all items are included and in good condition. This return policy applies only to KLAFS products purchased in the United States and Canada.

  • How do I maintain my sauna?
    Regularly cleaning with a soft, damp cloth or soft-bristled brush in encouraged. Do not use any harsh chemicals, bleach, or cleaners within your sauna. Do not use a water hose, running water, or power washer on any part of your sauna. For full cleaning and care practices, please see here.
  • Are there any additional accessories I might need?

    While you don’t need any additional accessories to enjoy your KLAFS sauna, you might find that certain items can enhance the experience. Consider adding cushions or mats for extra comfort or essential oils to create a soothing aroma during your sessions. These accessories are entirely optional, but can elevate the overall sauna experience.
